January 25, 1947 - March 5, 2022

BANGOR - Juanita D. Hibbard, 75, of Bangor and Abbot, gained her heavenly light and angel wings on March 5, 2022, at Eastside Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was born to the late Dorothy (Thompson) and Norvel Warman and the late Martin Leighton on January 25, 1947. She was raised by her Nana and Grandpa Thompson in Guilford ME.
Juanita had a love for music that had far reaches. At a young age, Juanita learned to play the piano. She began playing the piano and then pipe organ starting at the age of 14, in the old Methodist church in Guilford, continuing to play after she graduated high school at PCHS in 1965, until a handful of years ago when she was physically limited to continue her passion. On May 31, 1969, Juanita married her first true love, Stephen A. Douglass of Monson. Tragically, she lost Stephen to a terrible accident just a few short years later on February 15, 1975. Juanita was blessed to have two true loves. She married her second, Gerald "Jerry" G. Hibbard, of Madison and Guilford, on July 17, 1976. They were married over 27 years, when Jerry suddenly passed away on December 15, 2003.
Juanita was not only blessed with two true loves, she was blessed and honored to be the mother of three beautiful children: Michael Douglass and his wife, Stacie, Stephanie Douglass, and Melanie Hanson and her husband, Eric. As well as stepchildren: Kim Fortini, Sherry Dawes, Michael Libby, and Mark Libby. Her biggest pride and joy was being Nana/ Noonie to her granddaughters: Krystal Hanson and her fiancé, Jay Tate, Jasmine Douglass and significant other, Will Noble, Kimmy Hanson and significant other, Devon Pendriss, Taylor Hibbard, and Sabrina Douglass.
Juanita is also survived by sisters: Lene and Joe Hall, Gail and Ron Jehle, and Wendy Davenport and Mark; Brothers: Scott and Holly Warman, and Galen Warman and Leslie; Several sisters-in-law from both marriages, whom she loved as her own sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Juanita walked this earth and brought joy, laughter, and love to everyone in her life, which included but not limited to: church family, fire department and auxiliary family, her McDonald's family, and former customers. Most recently, her Eastside family, who she loved so much. She beamed every time they came for a visit even if she was not their resident that day.
Following Juanita's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be a memorial service Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Guilford United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Mask are optional. A spring/summer burial will be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association. The children are trying to either live stream or have a video for viewing of the service, but it is not confirmed right now. Please reach out to one of them if you would like a link if this is available.
